Douglas Petrovic
Doug joined James M. Ridge & Associates, P.C. in 2008 and is currently working in
the civil litigation department handling personal injury claims.
Doug, a former Assistant United States Attorney, Northern District of Indiana, was
born in Oxford, England and raised in the Chicagoland area. A 1991 graduate of Northwestern
University with Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude honors, he attended the Indiana
University School of Law, graduating in 1994.
Doug began his career in the felony division of the State’s Attorney Office in Indiana
and became a federal prosecutor at the age of 27.
Doug’s career is highlighted with numerous commendations for his special achievements
and excellence as an Assistant United States Attorney, including 1998 United States
Department of Justice Special Achievement Award for superior performance, a 2000
FBI commendation for outstanding performance, and a 2002 United States Attorney
commendation for excellent performance.
In 2004, Doug joined the law firm of Corboy and Demetrio where he participated in
multi-million dollar litigation on behalf of an electrician who was badly burned
by an explosion at a retail store; and an elderly woman struck by an 18-wheeler
tractor-trailer. While at Corboy and Demetrio, Doug completed numerous personal
injury and products liability claims and won substantial verdicts.
Doug is a resident of Frankfort, Illinois, where he lives with his wife, Yvonne
and their daughter, Nadia. He is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of
America, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association, the
Illinois State Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association.
