Matthew J. Coleman
Matt joined our firm in May 2008 following two years with the City of Chicago, Corporation
Counsel working with a 711 license. Matt grew up on the Southwest side of Chicago.
He is a graduate of Saint Ignatius College Prep, Xavier University (OH), and The
John Marshall Law School.
After his college graduation, Matt worked as a teacher in the Chicago Public Schools.
His focus was on adult special education. While Matt attended law school he spent
his summers working on a truck for a garbage and recycling company. In August, 2006
Matt began work as a 711 licensed law clerk for the City of Chicago, Corporation
Counsel, Building and Licensing Division. There he prosecuted building code violations
in Circuit Court and the Department of Administrative Hearings.
Matt is an active member of the Justinian Society of Lawyers, Illinois State Bar
Association, Chicago Bar Association, and the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association.
He also volunteers every week as a tutor at The Mercy Home for Boys and Girls.
